Coursework
As an E-Learning Advisor, you are involved in the tracking of students' progress in their courses and the communication of grades to the school. It is helpful to understand the general outline of NCVPS Courses and how assignments contribute to those grades. Please note, the school "owns" the final reporting of the grade.
Coursework:
Coursework structure varies from course to course but may include completion grades, discussion boards, short-term and long-term assignments, quizzes, and tests. The grades of these assignments are calculated into a Cumulative Grade for all Coursework, which is 80% of their grade for the course.
Please note the NCVPS Late Work Guidelines:
NCVPS recommends that students work daily in their courses and adhere to stated due dates. However, NCVPS understands there will be a variety of situations in which students may not be able to meet a deadline. Students are encouraged to work directly with their teachers in these situations. As of Summer 2019, NCVPS will no longer deduct points from assignments due to late submissions. Late assignments will be accepted through the due date of each module’s final assessment.
The following statement is in the syllabus of all NCVPS courses:
Students should be working daily, following the day-to-day pacing guide, to meet deadlines as posted in each course. A zero will be entered for all missing assignments once the due date has passed. Late assignments will be accepted through the due date of each module’s final assessment (i.e., Module 2 Post Assessment; this is not the final course exam) without penalty. Students should contact the online teacher ASAP, if a special circumstance arises.
